Does Selective Licensing Work?

I am a blackpool landlady. I own two properties in blackpool. I always see to repairs and look after my tenants. However, unfortunately they do not reciprocate by respecting the property. My properties are not in good areas and so it is very difficult to get decent people to live in them. My tenants have almost always been people on benefits. Our houses have been recked and left filthy time and time again. I do have photographs. Since I started this business in 2002 rents have come down in price. The properties are unsaleable and now we are expected to pay this massive registration fee which we can’t afford and also to pay council tax on an empty property. I am so upset and fed up with the whole renting business and feel trapped. Why are landlords so demonised and how are we supposed to stop the antisocial behaviour of our tenants. You tell me PLEASE
